India: Fort hit by massive rain after cloudburst
Raigad, India - July 7, 2024
In a recent incident in western India's Maharashtra, a fort was subjected to massive rainfall due to cloudburst causing severe inconvenience to tourists.
The incident took place at Raigad Fort on July 7.
Visuals showed the steps of the fort resembling a stream, with water cascading down them in a surge. The flow was monstrous and appeared just like water rushing down from a mountain stream. At that time, a large number of tourists were present witnessing the torrential downpour.
According to reports, many tourists who had come for sightseeing were stranded in the rain. Once the rain subsided, the tourists hurriedly left the fort. In various places, rainwater cascaded from towers and cliffs like waterfalls. Officials have indicated that the rains are expected to intensify in the next few hours, especially in the ghats, and tourists have been advised to take precautions.
