Washington, United States - June 30, 2024

Former President Donald Trump's sentencing hearing in his case of paying to conceal damaging information has been postponed until September after the judge agreed Tuesday to consider the possible impact of a new federal Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.
Trump was scheduled to face sentencing on July 11 for his guilty plea in New York to felony charges of falsifying financial records. The former president denies any wrongdoing.
The postponement sets sentencing for 18 September, well after the Republican National Convention, where Trump is scheduled to formally accept the party's nomination for president in this year's race. The convention runs from 15-18 July.
