Black bear cubs splashed in a tub of water to cool off in Oregon Zoo.

Footage shows the bears Timber and Thorn playing in their mini pool with 300 gallons of water in Portland on July 11.

The pair were rescued separately in Alaska when they were too young to be separated from their mother.

Jen Osburn Eliot, overseeing the zoo's Great Northwest area, said they are ensuring comfort for all during hot weather, whether human or animal.

She said: 'We prioritize hydration and access to cool spaces for everyone — our visitors, staff, and, of course, all the animals under our care.'

Both cubs, named in homage to their forest origins and Portland's soccer teams, the Timbers and Thorns, arrived at Oregon Zoo in December 2023 after receiving care at Alaska Zoo in Anchorage.
