On July 21, 2024, a comical scene between a father and a son was captured by a surveillance camera in a family spotted in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, southern China.

While the child, a five-month-old boy named Xiao Mai Dou sweetly playing on the floor by himself, the father, bored, swatted a ball at the floor and unintentionally increased the force. With a crunch of breaking glass and a flash of light, the ball bounced up accurately hitting the roof light and shattering it.

Realising that he was in trouble for his joking behaviour, the father looked up carefully to assess the situation, and then quietly placed the ball served as evidence beside the child, before leaving the room as if nothing had happened.
