Protests erupted in multiple cities in Venezuela on Monday, July 29, after the incumbent president Nicolás Maduro was declared the winner in the recent presidential election.

The opposition coalition claimed instances of irregularities in the counting of votes and said they have proof that opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez won in Sunday’s polls.

Protesters were banging pots and pans at home and on streets to join the demonstrations.
