It lasts 18 seconds and is usually done in darkness, which is why it's a rare sight. But here we catch a male and female swan mating. The male is fertilising the egg – which the female will now lay in the next 48 hours. She has already laid four eggs in her nest in Brentford Lock Island where she is being videoed daily by Brentford Wildlife Watch 2016.
