Storm chasers Sam & Dan from Devon known as UK Weather Chase captured the incredible moment of the full blue moon also known as the ‘Sturgeon moon’ using a skywatcher telescope.

Patience paid off when they saw a break in the clouds just after midnight which meant they had a small gap to get the pictures before more cloud was forecasted to set in.

Dan who owns a Skywatcher 200p and eq5 mount with synscan goto meant they were able to get up close to capture the incredible moment.

Sam says, “I’m thrilled we were given a small window in the clouds to deploy the telescope and get a glimpse. We had been up all night keeping eyes on the satellite waiting for clouds to break up after a front passed through earlier bringing rain and cloudy conditions.”

“We knew time was against us but we managed to plan our location and get out exactly when we needed and was a total success!”
