An enormous full supermoon moved into night skies over Chennai, south India last night, (February 18-19), being dubbed “the best supermoon of 2019".

This phenomenon, known as the “super snow moon”, because it falls in the month of February, often a time of snow in the northern hemisphere, is also known as a "super bone moon" or a "super hunger moon".

The full moon moved into Chennai sky overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, Feb. 19, and it is being called as “the best supermoon of 2019.”

Specifically, the “super snow moon” will appear in the nighttime sky starting Monday night and reach its full peak by 9:53 a.m. Tuesday. The Old Farmer’s Almanac reports that it will “appear full the night before and after its peak to the casual stargazer.”

To catch a glimpse of the incoming supermoon, look for the moon to rise in the east as the sun sets in the west. NASA writes in a blog post that the moon will appear “extremely large” during the time it rises and sets.
