Gripping footage of the recent Indonesian riots captures a tense clash between the police and resilient protesters.

"The demonstration was against the revision of the Regional Election Law at the Senayan parliament complex in Jakarta," the filmer, Ulya, shared with WooGlobe. "A number of demonstrators broke through the back gate of the MPR/DPR/DPD building. Thousands of people stormed the DPR RI building after the back gate was successfully torn down in the afternoon.

"The masses attempted to break into the DPR building but were blocked by rows of police troops. Most of the demonstrators were students and civilians, calling for the rejection of the Revision of the Regional Election Law."
