The fire was brought under control within an hour.

We were sitting across the bay when we noticed a fire start and rapidly increase in size, moving towards the hotels, villas and houses on the hill.

Emergency services impressively got the fire under control in about 45 mins to an hour, we were worried at a stage because of hearing about wild fires in Turkey just before we came, reassuring know they are well equipped to deal with wild fires in an area as popular as kalkan
