Los Angeles, United States - September 06, 2024

09/06/2024 12:40 am (GMT-0700) | HAWTHORNE, Calif. – The Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported plane crash on the 4400 block of West El Segundo Boulevard.

Upon arrival, crews found a single-engine Piper Comanche aircraft downed in the middle of the street.

The two patients on board were both transported to local area hospitals with critical injuries, reported LACoFD PIO Captain Sheila Kelliher-Berkoh on-camera at the scene. No one on the ground was injured, and no property was damaged.

Kelliher-Berkoh said the plane's descent initially suggested that it was coming into Hawthorne Airport, but that has yet to be determined. The incident is currently under investigation.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) were also dispatched to the scene.
