A stunning partial lunar eclipse of the full Harvest Supermoon was seen above Kent, UK in the early hours of this morning (September 18).

The moon was seen to reach maximum partial eclipse at around 3:44 local time above Sheerness - when skies cleared just in time for the rare celestial spectacle.

In the UK, around 4% of the Moon's disc was covered by the darkness of the umbra shadow.

The harvest moon is the full moon that occurs nearest autumn equinox.

Footage shows the peak of the eclipse at 3:44 BST, followed by a longer sequence from 3:15 BST to 4:15 BST.
