Egypt has denounced the strikes carried out by the Israeli army in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, on Saturday evening, which led to numerous civilian casualties and injuries, according to a statement by the foreign ministry on Sunday, published by the state-owned newspaper al Ahram.
An Israeli airstrike on Sunday morning on a mosque converted into a shelter in Deir al-Balah killed more than 20 people and wounded tens of others.
In its statement, the foreign ministry also denounced all attacks perpetrated by the Israeli army in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the strike on the Tulkarem camp in the northern West Bank three nights ago.
On Thursday evening, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 18 Palestinians in the Tulkarem refugee camp.
Furthermore, the foreign ministry condemned the airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut and other areas in Lebanon.
Cairo reaffirms its full support for UN institutions working in challenging circumstances, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), added the statement.
It also stressed the crucial role of these institutions in supporting humanitarian efforts and restoring calm, stability, and security.
Since Sept. 16, intense Israeli airstrikes on Dahiya in southern Beirut and other parts of Lebanon killed more than 1,400 and wounded more than 10,000, and left more than 1.2 million displaced.
Israeli strikes killed 23 people and wounded 93 others across Lebanon on Saturday, according to the Lebanese health ministry.
