Eerie scene as hundreds of birds fall from sky onto cruise ship stuck at sea due to Hurricane Milton
A woman captured an eerie scene as hundreds of birds and moths descended on a cruise ship stuck at sea due to Hurricane Milton.
TikTok user @justblondiejay2.0 posted the terrifying clip showing the carcasses of birds that had fallen out of he sky and onto the vessel's deck.
The filmer told Newsflare: "We are stuck on a cruise ship during Hurricane Milton when all of a sudden, late at night in the middle of the sea, 1000’s of birds and moths start flying frantically and then dropping out of the sky across all of the decks! The crew state continuously that they have never seen anything like this before and close all open decks!
"They don’t know where they are re-routing us to! Possibly Miami. We don’t know when we will be able to get back to Tampa for our vehicles!"
Some commenters are theorising that the birds became trapped in the hurricane's eye and exhausted from battling strong winds.
Other believe the moths were drawn to the boat by its lights.
This footage was captured on October 8.
