Syria - December 02, 2024 Storyline: Thousands of residents are fleeing Aleppo city in northern Syria as rebel groups intensify their assault on the city, forcing thousands to seek safety elsewhere, according to Syrian local media. The rebel groups fired shells at a dormitory complex in Aleppo city on Nov. 29, and formed a so-called "military government", and imposed a curfew in Aleppo on Monday. Syrian state television reported that the anti-government forces have been arresting people, raiding and searching homes. Some rebel group members entered public institutions to rob property and forced public institution employees to work for them through intimidation. The head of Aleppo's largest power plant told China Media Group that their employees have been detained by the rebel groups, and are not allowed to leave the power plant. This has resulted in a mass exodus from Aleppo as residents desperately seek safety from the escalating violence. Meanwhile, a food crisis is looming in the city as residents struggle to snap up essential supplies amid the ongoing conflict. Shotlist: Syria - Recent: 1.
