Sambhal, India - December 14, 2024 The temple was closed since the 1978 riots Uttar Pardesh ,The district administration launched a massive campaign against encroachment and electricity theft in Shahi Jama Masjid area in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, a temple was found imprisoned in a Muslim dominated area. During this, the temple of Lord Shiva, which was closed for 46 years, was opened. This temple was found in a closed house in Mahmud Khan Sarai area, which belonged to a Hindu family during the 1978 riots. Idols of Hanuman, Shivling, Nandi and Kartikeya have also been found in this temple. Now action has been taken on this by the police administration and a bulldozer has been run here. This imprisoned temple is being freed from occupation. The temple is near Deepa Sarai in Sambhal district. As soon as the administration opened the temple, a crowd of people gathered there and everyone shouted Jai Hanuman. The CO and SP cleaned the Shivling and Hanuman ji's idol of the temple. Information was received about an ancient well near the temple, after which the municipality excavated and an ancient well came out. Sambhal SDM Vandana Singh said that when a campaign was being run against electricity theft on Saturday morning, the team reached this place. That's when the officials saw this temple. The idols inside the temple were closed. Local people said that this temple was occupied since 1978. After the 1978 riots, the local Hindus left this temple, after which it was occupied.
