STORYLINE:
Türkiye's Defense Minister Yasar Guler said on Sunday that Ankara is open to military cooperation with Syria at the potential request of its new government, according to Türkiye's Hurriyet Daily News.
"If the new (Syrian) administration requests it, we are ready to provide the necessary assistance," said Guler when asked whether Türkiye would offer military cooperation to the new government.

"Now a new situation and reality has emerged in Syria."
Guler highlighted Türkiye's ongoing military training and cooperation agreements with several nations, saying that similar support could be extended to Syria.
The defense minister also emphasized that Syria's new administration has committed to respecting state institutions, the United Nations, and other international organizations. "We believe it is important to observe the new government's actions and allow it to prove itself," he added.
