Palm Bay, United States - December 26, 2024 In a dramatic rescue caught on body camera, Palm Bay police officers saved a pregnant woman from a car submerged in a canal on December 26. The officers were initially responding to reports of downed powerlines when they heard banging coming from the water. Upon investigating, they found the car upside down and submerged, with the woman trapped inside. "Thank God the lady is safe," said former sheriff’s deputy Jamie Copenhaver, who reviewed the footage. He praised the officers for their quick, life-saving actions. "They didn’t think. They literally went into life-saving mode for this pregnant woman." The video shows one officer grabbing a baseball bat and rushing to the water, while others worked swiftly to pull the woman from the vehicle. Copenhaver noted that every second counted, and had the officers arrived just a few minutes later, the outcome could have been tragic.
