At CES 2025, Elaphe, a Slovenian in-wheel motor specialist, unveiled its Sonic. 1 high-performance in-wheel motor designed for front-wheel applications in electric and hybrid vehicles.

"Sonic .1's incredible features include integration with high-performance brakes, continuous power output of 200 kW (approximately 272 horsepower) per wheel, with peak outputs reaching up to 255 kW (around 347 horsepower)," the filmer, Ivonne, wrote online. "The motor provides continuous torque of 1,000 Nm and peak torque of 1,700 Nm per wheel, operating at a maximum speed of 3,500 revolutions per minute (rpm)."

The filmer touted Sonic .1's scalability and enhanced vehicle dynamics.

"Elaphe’s collaboration with Italdesign was also highlighted at CES 2025," Ivonne added. "The Quintessenza concept car, featuring Elaphe’s in-wheel motors on all four wheels, was showcased, demonstrating the integration of advanced in-wheel motor technology with innovative vehicle design."
