North Riverside, United States - January 20, 2025 Israel released early Monday morning, the Israel Prison Service confirmed, the first group of 90 Palestinian prisoners, mostly women and children, as part of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The release comes after Hamas handed over three Israeli hostages, three civilian women, who are being held in Tel Aviv's Sheba hospital. On Sunday, the prison service gathered all those to be released at Ofer prison, near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, for Israeli security forces and Red Cross representatives to verify each prisoner's identity and conduct medical checks.
