STORYLINE:

A three-day steam locomotive tourism event was held recently in Diaobingshan, Tieling City, northeast China's Liaoning Province.

The event, in its 15th edition this year, featured 21 retired steam locomotives roaring back to life.

Tourists had the opportunity to visit the steam locomotive museum, take pictures of steam locomotives, and watch exhibitions during the event.

The event drew many tourists from both home and abroad.

"I came to Tieling City for the first time. I was very happy to see the steam locomotives here. It's the first time for me to see them. I think they are very beautiful."

This type of train was phased out of China's transportation system earlier this century.

"There are many people and performances in the carriages. I really enjoyed them. The people in Tieling are very welcoming and friendly."
