Israel: Hamas to deliver names of 4 hostages to be freed next under Gaza ceasefire deal
Tel Aviv, Israel - Recent Hamas will give the mediators on Friday the names of the four hostages who will be released on Saturday, according to Palestinian newspaper, Al-Quds, on Thursday. Citing Hamas West Bank chief Zaher Jabarin, Al-Quds reported that Hamas will give the mediators on Friday the names of the four Israeli hostages, the second batch to be released under the first phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement which came into force on Sunday. According to the ceasefire agreement, Israel and Hamas will start negotiations on the second phase of the agreement on the 16th day after the start of this round of ceasefire. On Wednesday, an Israeli security delegation arrived in Cairo to continue negotiations on the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire deal. The Israeli delegation includes officials from the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad and Shin Bet security agency. The discussions focused on the execution of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, including further hostage release and the reopening of the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing to allow the passage of injured Palestinians The Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday evening local time that in the past 24 hours, the Israeli forces had taken actions in accordance with the ceasefire agreement to combat threats to Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army has once again urged residents in Gaza to comply with military orders and refrain from approaching Israeli troops stationed in the area.
