TikToker mariamunoz was in for a shock when she discovered her glass teapot completely shattered upon delivery. Confused about how it happened, she checked her Ring cam footage, only to see an Amazon driver in Chicago carelessly throwing the package onto her porch, snapping a pic as it landed.

What followed was a frustrating cleanup, as tiny glass shards spread everywhere, even getting on her hands and clothes. Despite reaching out to Amazon, she only received a replacement with no real accountability from the company.

I ordered a glass teapot, expecting a normal delivery, but things didn’t go as planned. My mom brought the package inside, and when I opened it, I immediately saw that the teapot was completely shattered. There were some big pieces of glass, but the real issue was the tiny shards that spread out as I opened the box up. Since the teapot was clear, it was hard to spot all the little pieces, making cleanup a hassle. Those tiny tiny pieces of glass also got on my hands and sleeves.

When I opened the box i was clearly unaware that it was shattered, especially because I didn’t carry the package inside but just opened it directly where my mom had set it down. The top of the tea pot is metal & of course that was not broken. That metal piece is all i could see when opened the box, and so I didn’t know everything under the metal piece was completely broken which is why I even touched the bubble wrap to try to pull the tea pot out. Once I did that is when the shards of glass got on my hands / everywhere.

At first, I wasn’t sure how it had broken, but after opening the box, I decided to check my security footage. That’s when I saw how carelessly the Amazon driver handled the package & it all made sense. I reached out to Amazon to report the situation, both about the package handling and the mess it caused, but I never got a response. On the phone I was able to talk to an amazon employee and they did send me a replacement tea pot, but that’s all.

This situation is frustrating, not just because the item was broken, but because there was no accountability. This video highlights why people’s items need to be handled with care.
