STORYLINE:
The 48th edition of the Baghdad International Fair kicked off in Iraq's capital Baghdad on Saturday, with the participation of 1,250 local and foreign companies from 22 countries.
The opening ceremony of the 7-day exhibition was attended by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, according to a statement by al-Sudani's media office.
Al-Sudani said the Baghdad International Fair should serve as a meeting platform where opportunities, agreements, and proposals come together to drive Iraq's development, the statement said.
A variety of products are displayed at the exhibition, including engineering technologies in the fields of construction and energy, as well as heavy equipment and cars.
