On Thursday, the Gauteng Member of the Executive Council (MEC) of Finance and Economic Development, Lebogang Maile, officially launched the Gauteng Investment Conference at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in Sandton, South Africa.
The conference is a key economic event in South Africa, aimed at attracting domestic and international investment to Gauteng Province.
This year's Gauteng Investment Conference is scheduled to take place on April 3.
At the launching ceremony, Maile told Xinhua that Gauteng seeks closer trading relations with China.

"We as Gauteng have had a long-term partnership with Beijing. We want to revive it. As you know, China is a big market. We don't just want to consume goods from China, we also want to sell goods to China, and the issue is one of the some of the things that we can be able to send there."
