"I'm now here in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks here on Tuesday. Behind me is the Riyadh Palace, the venue for their talks. Kremlin's foreign affairs adviser, Yuri Ushakov, said the U.S.-Russia talks concluded with positive progress and the conversation was a serious one on all issues."
This was the first face-to-face interactions between senior U.S. and Russian officials since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February 2022.
Both sides have agreed to work on a path to ending the conflict in Ukraine and improve bilateral ties.
