Türkiye: U.S. B-52 Bombers Showcase Power in Middle East Bomber Task Force Mission
Türkiye - February 17, 2025 Middle East – U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) demonstrated its force projection capabilities on February 17, 2025, with a Bomber Task Force mission involving two B-52 bombers. The bombers, flying from RAF Fairford, U.K., traversed Europe and nine partner nations in CENTCOM's area of responsibility, conducting aerial refueling and live munitions drops at multiple ranges. U.S. F-15s and four partner nations provided fighter escorts throughout the mission. “This mission underscores U.S. power projection, our commitment to regional security, and our readiness to counter any threat in the CENTCOM region,” said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, CENTCOM commander.
