Iran: Iran holds memorial to commemorate slain Hezbollah leader
Tehran, Iran - February 23, 2025 Iran on Sunday held a memorial event to commemorate former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, as tens of thousands of mourners gathered in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on the same day for the funeral of late Hezbollah leaders. A large number of Iranians gathered at the memorial event on Sunday, holding up portrait of Nasrallah, waving flags of Iran, Palestine and Lebanon, as well as chanting anti-U.S. and anti-Israel slogans. The mourners said that despite the support of the U.S.-led Western countries, Israel failed to achieve its goal of occupying the Gaza Strip in this round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They said that Israel killed many resistance leaders, but the resistance will continue. Some mourners said that the U.S. President Trump's plan to relocate Gaza residents to other countries is an example of the U.S. violating international law and human rights. Iranian people said that since the current round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israel, with the U.S. support, has committed serious acts of aggression against many countries in the Middle East region, and the killing of Nasrallah further demonstrates the aggressive nature of the United States and Israel. They said that Iran will continue to firmly support regional resistance forces and resist Israel's crimes. Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli bombing against Dahieh, the southern suburb of Beirut on September 27, 2024. Shotlist: Tehran, Iran - Feb 23, 2025: 1.
