01/03/2025 - Rome, Italy. An elderly woman from the working-class neighborhood of Quarticciolo shouts the motto ‘Quarticciolo raise your voice’ from her window on the occasion of the demonstration of dissent to the high-sounding spot interventions of repression of the underworld without any plan for the redevelopment of the neighborhood. A few thousand people (about 2,000 people, according to the police) from all over Rome, with some representatives to witness other Italian realities, including Naples and Caivano, crossed the streets of the popular neighborhood of Quarticciolo to shout out the desire to return to life and ask the Government for concerted interventions with the inhabitants who, despite the abandonment and the permanent presence of drug dealers controlling the territory, have given life to social aid organizations that are precious for the inhabitants of the neighborhood itself. They loudly shouted "No" to sterile one-off repression interventions, on the Caivano model, but rather to interventions that follow a plan for the redevelopment of a neighborhood that has been at the mercy of drug dealers for years.
