A severe storm caused power outages as it struck Indiana.

The freak weather hit the region on Wednesday evening, March 19. The National Weather Service issued several thunderstorm and tornado warnings throughout the night.

Dramatic footage by Angie Dickerson shows lightning and thunder sweeping through Jamestown.

Angie said: 'This storm front began with a strong line of low-hanging clouds, lots of thunder and lightning, then cleared up slightly, followed by strong gusts of wind and sheets of rain, near whiteout for 30 seconds. Rain died down, 20 seconds of hail, then 30 seconds without power.'

Local media reported that Jamestown experienced a one-inch hail around 7:40 pm.

The Storm Prediction Centre reported more than 100 storm reports from Wednesday's weather event. It came from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. In total, there were 110 reports as of 6:15 am on Thursday.

Nearly 8,000 power outages were also recorded in Indiana.
