KHALIL DAKRAN SPEAKING TO REPORTER NEAR DEAD GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - APR. 2: The Israeli army killed at least 61 Palestinians on Wednesday in a series of airstrikes across the war-devastated Gaza Strip, as Israel's genocide unrelentingly continues. A medical source told Anadolu that 13 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a home in the southern city of Khan Younis. Another Palestinian was killed, and four others were injured in an Israeli strike on a tent for displaced people in the city’s western part, he added. At least 22 more civilians were killed when Israeli warplanes hit a health clinic run by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in the northern town of Jabalia, Gaza’s government media office said. In Rafah, two Israeli airstrikes left five Palestinians killed, as the Israeli army intensified its attacks on the city, another medical source said. Two more Palestinians lost their lives in an airstrike targeting a home in the eastern area of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Eight farmers were also killed in another strike as they were tending to farmland in the Al-Salam neighborhood in southeastern Khan Younis, medics said. Israeli fighter jets also killed three police officers and a child and injured several others in the central city of Deir al-Balah, Gaza’s Interior Ministry said. Six more people were killed, including a young girl, and several others were injured in another attack in Rafah in southern Gaza, medics said. On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to escalate attacks on Gaza amid efforts to implement US President Donald Trump's plan to displace Palestinians from the enclave. Israel began a surprise aerial campaign on Gaza on March 18, and has since killed more than 1,000 victims and injured over 2,500, shattering a January ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas. More than 50,400 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in Israel's military onslaught since October 2023, most of them women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
