Laurie Starr, whose usual job is as a Phlebotomist, came from Washington State with her husband-to-be to help the victims of the L.A. Fires, by accepting Debris-Removal jobs with Odin Construction Solutions, a Contractor with the Army Corps of Engineers/FEMA. Their task is to clear the fire-decimated properties of all ash, debris and waste. Her and her fiancé, who is driving the heavy equipment behind her — left secure and higher paying jobs to do this “humanitarian work” — a more temporary, but rewarding position. They are living in a hotel sponsored by the company.
