Indonesia: GPS Misguides Indonesian Driver Off Unfinished Bridge
Indonesia - April 17, 2025 An Indonesian man, Rudy Comandono, 61, miraculously survived after his BMW fell from a 12-meter-high unfinished bridge while he was following directions from Google Maps. The GPS app reportedly rerouted him onto an incomplete highway, leading to the dramatic fall. Despite the severity of the crash, both Rudy and his passenger escaped serious injury. He told police he wasn’t at fault, explaining he had simply been “trying to follow the GPS.” The incident has sparked renewed concerns over the reliability of navigation apps.
