The weather finally warmed up in North Carolina last week, and a husband and wife working hard on their farm decided to treat themselves to a pizza lunch while planting this year’s garden harvest.

They sat together under a shady tree at a picnic table, enjoying their meal while free-range chickens pecked around their boots and goats wandered nearby, munching leaves and minding their business—or so it seemed.

Caught up in conversation and the peaceful moment, they didn’t notice one curious, blue-eyed goat sneaking up ever-so-sneakily toward the table. Just as the goat made its move for a slice, the husband leaned over and firmly told him, “The pizza’s NOT for you!”—while the wife slowly slid the box out of reach.

That’s when they looked up and realized they weren’t alone. A whole crew of pizza-loving goats had surrounded them, staring with hope in their eyes and hungry dreams in their hearts. Looks like word travels fast on the farm!
