"The Unintended Bounty: When a Simple Bakery Visit Turns into a Bread Bonanza"

Buy video

I went to a neighborhood bakery in Paris near my apartment to get a baguette. I get baguettes frequently here so I know how much they cost and had exact change ready to go. However, I showed up about 15 minutes before closing time, and they offered to give me a "panier" (basket) of bakery items for just 5 euros, because otherwise the items would be wasted (likely too stale to sell the next day). At first, I hesitated because I actually don't eat much gluten, but I am a sucker for preventing food waste so I eventually agreed. He proceeded to load me up with SO MUCH BREAD that I had a comical time carrying it all home. Normally, I bring a reusable bag everywhere with me, but since I was just planning on getting one baguette, I didn't have my bag with me and I laughed the entire way home with my haul. Amazing 'task failed successfully' because I got to try a lot of bakery items I don't normally order, and they were all delicious! Next time... I might go 15 minutes before close on purpose :)
