This video captures a full-circle moment as I dress my daughters in my Virginia Tech graduation cap, gown, and cords. I was born and raised in the New River Valley and always dreamed of going to college—especially Virginia Tech. I started that journey at New River Community College, where I graduated in 2023 with my general studies degree, and then transferred to Virginia Tech to finish my degree. Now, as a first-generation college student and former teen mom I am graduating in Public relations with a minor in marketing. I have worked while going to school and raising two daughters, This milestone means everything to me. It’s a tribute to resilience, determination, and showing my daughters that anything is possible! Education is so important and I just knew I’d never have a good reason or excuse if I never tried to go back to school! Education felt like the missing puzzle piece of my life.
