Exclusive- Texan tourist’s strut turns into a perfect street photography moment

Buy video

I’m a street photographer based in the UK, and on this particular day, I was watching a patch of light spill across Coney Street in York — a busy pedestrian street with beautiful late afternoon light. I’d been waiting for the right silhouette to pass through when I spotted a Texan tourist in a cowboy hat strolling past.

I asked if he’d walk through the frame for me and he happily agreed — even threw in a bit of a strut. What I hadn’t realised at first was that I was still recording through my Meta smart glasses. I’d been wearing them all day and had forgotten they were still rolling. The result was a completely natural, POV-style moment that shows how one of my favourite street shots of the year came together.

It’s a great example of how spontaneity, technology, and human connection can collide to create something memorable.
