Mexican Navy ship loses power and crashes into Brooklyn Bridge in New York, USA
On May 17, 2025, in New York, USA, @Didyouknowsam shared a video of a shocking maritime incident. In the video, a Mexican Navy training vessel is seen moving through the Brooklyn Bridge as the ship Cuauhtémoc, carrying 277 people, lost power due to mechanical failure and crashed into the iconic bridge. The collision caused all three of the ship’s 147-foot masts to snap upon impact. Reports stated that two crew members tragically died, and 19 others were injured in the crash.
