VARIOUS OF DEAD BODIES BEING CARRIED ON SHOULDERS GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - MAY 20: On Tuesday, May 20, at least 13 Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in an Israeli military attack on the Musa Bin Nusair School in eastern Gaza, where displaced families had sought shelter, according to preliminary reports. The victims' bodies were transported to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, where funeral prayers were held before they were laid to rest amid tearful farewells from grieving relatives. Since October 2023, Israeli forces have destroyed or damaged approximately 95 percent of schools in Gaza, according to aid agencies, severely disrupting education and humanitarian shelter efforts. On Sunday, the Israeli army announced the start of a large-scale ground offensive in the besieged enclave, intensifying its military campaign. The Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 53,500 Palestinians, most of them women and children. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
