Yiyang, China - June 07, 2025 On June 7, 2025, the first day of China’s national college entrance exam, a sudden downpour struck just as students were preparing to leave the test site. The storm hit at 5 p.m. outside Yiyang No.1 High School, where traffic was already under heavy pressure due to the large number of vehicles picking up students. Fearing a dangerous traffic jam, auxiliary police officer Zhang Zhiyong rushed into action. Without hesitation, he stepped into the rain barefoot and directed traffic at the east gate of the school. For nearly two hours, he worked soaked to the skin, guiding cars and keeping the area under control. Thanks to his efforts and those of the entire traffic team, order was maintained and all students and parents left safely. By 7 p.m., every student had safely departed the area.
