The strike hit a house belonging to the Alloush family, reducing it to rubble. The bodies of a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old child were pulled from the debris and transferred to the morgue of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital. Relatives of the victims were seen mourning in deep sorrow. Spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense Directorate, Mahmoud Basal, said that search and rescue operations at the targeted site have not yet been completed. He noted that a number of Palestinians are still believed to be trapped under the rubble. The attack comes amid continued Israeli bombardment of the blockaded enclave, which has been under siege since October 7, 2023. At least 55,104 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday. A ministry statement said that 123 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 474 people were injured, taking the total number of injuries in the Israeli onslaught to 127,394. “Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added. The Israeli army resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18 and has since killed 4,821 people and injured 15,535 others, shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave. Reporting by Mohammed Awad // Writing by Mustafa Tuncer
