Rota, Spain - June 10, 2025 On June 10, 2025, U.S. Sailors assigned to USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79) returned to Naval Station Rota after completing their first patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. The ship’s mission supported the warfighting effectiveness, lethality, and readiness of U.S. Naval Forces Europe Africa, defending U.S., Allied, and partner interests in the region. As the sailors disembarked, families and friends gathered to welcome them back with heartfelt hugs and kisses.
