The streets of Los Angeles are flooded with anti-Trump protesters "Without Kings"
The "Without Kings" demonstration brought out thousands of people to protest against the policies implemented by Donald Trump.
A week after citizen protests against the detention of immigrants ended in a clash with the Los Angeles police, thousands of people—especially of Latino descent—took to the streets to once again raise their voices in opposition to President Donald Trump's way of governing.
A large group of residents of the capital of the "Golden State" responded to a call issued by several civil and human rights organizations to express their opposition to the federal government's attempt to solve the immigration problem facing millions of foreigners without legal status in a country where, despite their contributions to the country's work in various sectors, the government has not provided them with the opportunity to legalize their stay due to the lack of an adequate policy.
Last weekend, an operation led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in areas with Latino concentrations ended in a brawl between opponents and authorities.
The violence on both sides was reflected in graffiti and destruction, images of which spread around the world in a matter of minutes.
To ensure the security of the California capital, President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 4,000 National Guard members, which was considered a sign of authoritarianism, as that power rests with the states.
From that moment on, the protests have continued unabated, and the worst part for the federal government was that they spread to several cities.
This Saturday, the big question was what might happen in Los Angeles, as government supporters claimed that the so-called "No Kings" demonstration would have no impact due to fears of the National Guard's presence.
However, the large number of people who decided to take to the streets far outnumbered the guards. Adults and young people, men and women, Latinos and even Americans, gathered in the center of the capital with flags and banners filled with messages rejecting the role assumed by the Republican who is celebrating his 79th birthday today.
In front of City Hall and on the sidewalks at the intersection of Ventura and Laurel Canyon Boulevards in Studio City, thousands of people formed a human bloc chanting slogans repudiating immigration policy, the cancellation of programs, the use of tariffs, but above all, the intimidation and confusion that has prevailed since Donald Trump's return to the White House.
