Israel maintains complete siege on West Bank amid regional tensions
-QALQILIA, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - JUNE 17, 2025: The Israeli army continues to enforce a complete siege on entry to and exit from the occupied West Bank as tensions remain high in the Middle East. Mouayed Shaban, head of the Colonization and Wall and Resistance Commission, said that such restrictions severely disrupt movement between cities and villages. He further accused Israel of reinforcing what he described as an “apartheid regime,” citing the closure of roads to Palestinians while allowing unrestricted access for illegal Israeli settlers. Israel is moving to impose a complete siege on the occupied West Bank, Israeli media reported on June 13. Heavy contingents of Israeli forces are being moved to areas in the West Bank, according to the Israel Hayom newspaper. The report comes amid Israel’s ongoing genocidal war in Gaza and its latest wave of large-scale strikes on Iran early Friday, which have raised concerns of further regional conflict.
