VARIOUS OF PROTESTERS MARCHING, HOLDING BANNERS AND FLAGS, CHANTING ANTI-ISRAEL AND ANTI-WAR SLOGANS THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS - JUNE 22, 2025: Thousands gathered outside The Hague Central Station on Sunday, June 22, to protest the NATO summit that will be held in the city, condemning the alliance’s actions amid ongoing conflicts and wars. “No war, no occupation – stop NATO domination” and “NATO is a war machine,” read some banners the protesters carried. The demonstration also featured a vibrant display of Palestinian and Iranian flags, amid Israel's attacks on both countries. Several signs and banners mocked political leaders, displaying caricatures of former US President Donald Trump and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as symbols of militarism and hypocrisy. The action reflects mounting criticism of NATO’s involvement in global conflicts, following a wave of similar demonstrations across Europe this year. The NATO summit, scheduled for June 24-25 in The Hague, is expected to draw key figures including US President Donald Trump, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and other alliance leaders. Middle East security is expected to dominate discussions at the summit.
