US HOMELAND SECURITY SECRETARY KRISTI NOEM SPEAKINGPANAMA CITY, PANAMA - JUNE 24: US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem visited Panama to oversee the deportation of 32 Colombian nationals as part of the Migration Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Panama. Among the returnees, 24 were deported and 8 expelled due to criminal convictions. Offenses included international drug trafficking, crimes against public safety, and sexual assault. The foreigners were transferred to the city of Medellin, Colombia. As of June 22, 2025, Panama has carried out 2,378 deportations and expulsions—2,034 deportations and 344 expulsions. Of these, 2,060 were men and 286 were women, primarily nationals of Colombia, Ecuador, and India. Under the US-Panama migration agreement, a total of 2,044 individuals have been repatriated through 53 flights—51 funded by the US and 2 by Panama. The majority of those returned were Colombian citizens.
