On a record-breaking day with temperatures soaring above 40°C, Ang and her husband were racing to the animal hospital with their very sick dog when they spotted something unexpected: a snapping turtle stranded on a scorching, newly paved country road.

Despite the stress of their emergency, they couldn’t ignore the turtle, who looked frozen in place from the heat. With Ang nervously giggling and shouting from the sidelines, her husband grabbed a mat pulling off a hilariously cautious rescue, managing to lift the hefty reptile and carry her to safety on the grassy shoulder.
