Back in April 2023, the Kiss Me More star tweeted that she didn't want to make pop music anymore as it was no longer "exciting" for her. But during an interview for V magazine, Doja noted that her forthcoming album, Vie, will fall within the genre. ”I do want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project.
