A woman living in Watertown, Connecticut, has revealed that her mum has kept a rare packet of gold Starburst for 15 years.

According to the filmer, the packet of rare sweets was released as part of a competition years ago where whoever found the gold ones would be rewarded.

They told Newsflare: "We were going through some old family photos and keepsakes, we stumbled across my moms gold Starburst she saved for years lol.

"I decided to record because they looked cool. She submitted it after she bought it but was told it was too late to redeem anything, she was very hurt but kept it as a memory for something she won.

"We recorded this as a complete joke and never expected it to blow up, we are grateful for all the support and people tagging Starburst for us."
