Contractors and workers from Thames Water begin the clean up process after a burst water pipe flooded streets and cut off supply to homes in South London. Residents have been forced to leave their homes and thousands of households have been left without running water in South London after a water pipe burst on Ilderton Road in Bermondsey early this morning. The council has been helping people who have been forced to leave their homes and has set up a rest centre. Thames Water have warned customers that the incident may mean that there is little to no running water available in some postcodes. This incident comes as Thames water is preparing to implement hosepipe bans and droughts have been declared in parts of the United Kingdom.
